I have used Draftsight for years and rarely had issues with freezing or crashing. Recently started a new job with a new laptop (Windows 11). It seems to freeze and crash when editing text boxes, printing, pasting OLE object, and sometimes for no reason. I also couldn't get the cursor to show up correctly (I like crosshairs at 100). Noticed that I had SP3 installed and the next week SP4 was released, so I tried installing and my crosshair started working... Saved old file as a newer autocad version and crashing got better for awhile, but then became more frequent again. OLE was sort of working, but then just stopped, and crosshair simply deleted itself even though option was checked. Went through and re-named draftsight folder in appdata, ran repair tool from install, and cursor & OLE started sort of working but still crashes everytime I turn around. What could I be doing wrong? Should I be running in compatibility version? I don't understand...
