I am having troubles with seemingly varying line weights when I import a drawing to another program..
What we do on a daily/weekly basis is draw a part in DraftSight and then import the drawing as a R2007-2009 Binary Drawing (*.dxf) to CorelDRAW to laser engrave/cut the part out. The problem we are having is when we import into Corel, any straight line or ellipse (arcs, polygons, and splines aren't affected) imports as a visibly thicker line. What this affects is how the drawing is lasered out in the machine. The laser cutter will laser the thicker line around 9 times instead of the single pass we are looking for. The reason I am asking DraftSight for help is because we have not updated Corel in a few years but I've recently downloaded the newest version of DraftSight and this is when this problem started occurring. I can only assume that there was a setting that was in the old version that was changed in the new update..? I have looked through and tested multiple variations of settings (changed line weights, changed layers, changed line styles..) that, in my mind, would've caused the change but to no success. I am at a loss and am very confused on what caused this change.
Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need more information to better understand the situation.
Thanks,
-Doug
