I have installed DraftSight 19 on a machine running Windows 10. Upon opening DraftSight, when I click on the drawing screen for the very first time the program hangs. The cursor can still be moved around, but I can no longer click on anything (even the close button) and the text input window asks for the second input (i.e. second point of a line, second corner of a selection box, etc.), but it won't accept any input. Pull-down menus pull down, but selection within them, likewise, does not work. The only way to exit DraftSight after that point is to kill the process via Task Manager.
The most unusual part of the problem is that when I first noticed it I was trying to make a selection of the screen (MAINSELECT). Someone in a forum suggested trying to draw a line first, and that seemed to solve the problem for a while. Since shutting DraftSight down and re-starting it, not even that work-around is working. This is very frustrating as it has me effectively locked out of ongoing work.
The machine is capable of running SolidWorks, as well as numerous PCB layout packages, so basic specs are unlikely to be the problem, I think. Any help that's out there is greatly appreciated.
