Well,DraftSight and Windows 64 bit op systems do not play well together.  I have the latest version of Draftsight installed on a Vista Home Premium 64 Bit laptop here at home and on a Dell workstation with Win 7 Pro 64 bit as its op system.  I have encountered the sam behavior; I'll be working on a drawing and DraftSight crashes and presents the message "DragtSight has encountered a problem and must close....... ".  I have been having this problem since Feburary of this year, 2011.  I have yet to hear of any resolution.  It appears that DraftSight as written will not run on a 64 bit system.  Therefore, th program is useless to me and I would not recommend the program to anyone.
