Hello,
I am using DraftSight Professional 2026 SP3 on Windows 11.
Every time I run the DATAEXTRACTION command, DraftSight crashes completely.
The problem is reproducible. I also created a completely new drawing containing only simple SPLINE and POLYLINE objects, but DATAEXTRACTION still causes DraftSight to crash.
I have already tried this several times with different drawings, so the problem does not appear to be caused by one particular DWG file.
I need DATAEXTRACTION for my normal work to obtain lengths of objects grouped by layers, so this is currently preventing me from completing my work.
I have tried several times to contact DraftSight support through the “Submit a Request” form, but after submitting the form I only get the “We are busy updating your experience” page and I have not been able to obtain technical support.
Could someone from DraftSight please confirm whether this is a known issue in DraftSight 2026 SP3 and advise how to fix it or provide a workaround?
I can provide a sample DWG file and Windows crash/event information if needed.
Thank you,
Erich Schreiber
UPDATE: I have updated the AMD Radeon 780M graphics driver to the latest AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1 driver (32.0.31035.1003) and restarted Windows. The problem remains unchanged. DATAEXTRACTION still immediately crashes DraftSight, even in a simple test drawing.
UPDATE 2:
I have found an important detail regarding this issue.
After changing the DraftSight 2026 SP3 user interface language to English, the DATAEXTRACTION command no longer crashes.
I am now able to proceed through the Data Extraction wizard normally. The same command was crashing DraftSight every time when the application was running in the Czech language.
Therefore, this appears to be related to the Czech localization of DraftSight 2026 SP3, rather than the DWG file or the graphics driver.
I can reproduce the difference simply by changing the DraftSight language.
I hope this information helps identify the bug.
