Even with Auto Save selected and setting to save for every 5 minutes, after a crash, my work does not seem to be saved. A recover command opens the window to select what I saved manually from yesterday. So all of the work done today seems gone. 

What I see in the AutoSave folder are drawings ending with ".ds\\\$"

This is unusable as it is, but one can copy and paste and change the end of the file name to .dwg. Then using the command "replacerecover", one can navigate to the folder once again and recover to within the last few minutes of the autosave.

I also checked the box in the Options toolbox, under Systems Options, Auto-save & Backup, Auto-save/backups "Use Original format".

Hope this helps you recover from a crash after hours of drafting seems lost! 

Now if only they will fix the crashing issues!
