Draftsight 2018 Hatch Origin problem - please help!

Hi there,

I am an architect and I am new to using Draftsight having made the transition from AutoCAD (2008). I have been an AutoCAD user since 2000. I love Draftsight but I have encountered a significant problem with hatching when opening any drawings which I have previously created in AutoCAD. The hatch patterns are all present and they can be changed in the same way I could do within AutoCAD. However, the major frustration for me is that when trying to set the source origin of a hatch pattern it does not work; I cannot start a hatch pattern where I want to whether using the 'select source' radio button and then selecting the coordinates, or, even by moving the CCS/UCS and selecting 'use current origin'. This is important for me to resolve so that I can set hatches for setting out brickwork, blockwork and other modular construction elements.

The problem is not apparent when starting a drawing from a dwt file from within Draftsight. It is only when opening historic AutoCAD drawings with hatches present within them. I believe I have tried every configuration under the sun to try and resolve but I have run out of options within my knowledge base.

Can someone please, please help?

What am I doing wrong or what can I do differently to work around this issue?

Kind regards,

Alex
