Hi All
I have had an issue on some of our machines. When clicking the Open or Save icon the program will crash on the file window opening. I have resolved on some machines, but there is still one where there is an issue.
All the machines that have had this issue are Windows 10 Pro and joined to a domain. It happens on 1607 and 1703 versions of Windows 10.
Attempts at resolution on all machines (failed) -
- Uninstall and reinstall. No joy
- Uninstall and reinstall older version. No joy
- Uninstall and install in new location. No joy
- Uninstall and clean (as recommended on these forums) and reinstall. No joy
- Uninstall and total removal of everything DraftSight in filesystem and registry and reinstall. No joy
- Updating of drivers and BIOS and then a clean reinstall in a new location. No joy.
Resolution on two of the machines
Eventually started ripping out other programs to try and find the culprit. Turned out that AutoDesk TrueView 2017 was causing the issue on these machines - well, at least removing it solved the issue. Intrestingly TrueView 2018 was installed and caused only one of the machines to revert to crashing when clicking the Open or Save button. When it was removed from that machine the issue was resolved.
Problem Machine
One of the machines did not resolve this when TrueView was removed. I am thinking this has to do with the AutoDesk Inventor software installed on the machine. However this is a required software and I am unable to remove as the user will no longer be able to do his job. Is there a fix for this? Or a work round at all?
