Drafsight loads way to slow without an internet connection

I generally have nothing but good things to say about DraftSight but I don't like how slow it loads when I don't have an internet connection. My copy seems to take several minutes to load without a connection and almost instatanious with a connection. I can see no reason why trying to establish a connection over the internet cannot be made a background task. It is extremely frustrating to wait for it to load - Actually it makes you think there is something wrong with your computer. I agree that a connection is necessary to download, activate, periodically re-activate and check for updates but lets get it loaded first. My question is does anyone know of a command line switch that will force DraftSight to load without an internet connection?
