Dimensioning process.

Hi There,

I now have a simple product model in the Model space.  That part was sane.  After much fussing around, I have placed some formats and learned how to make scaled Viewports for the geometry views.  So a drawing is happening.

Then I have become totally frustrated with trying to dimension the parts.  There are so many settings I don't know where to begin.  So my question is basically "What is the process for dimensioning a fabrication drawing?"

Do the dimensions get placed in the Model so they are visible through the Viewport and they get printed?

Or are the dimensions placed on the Sheets when the Viewports are inactive?

One more -- when I try to make scale changes to dimension elements in the Style settings, why are the ones that need to be adjusted locked out?  How do I get access so I can make the dimensions large enough to see?

It's not easy to get a foothold with this tool when everything is adjustable and needs adjustment.  This program needs to be more intuitive, rational, and user-friendly.  An experienced CAD user should be able to jump on and ride, like a skateboard.

Thanks,

Joseph
