DraftSight 2018 X64 SP3 Freshly downloaded and installed multiple times.

This is a duplicate of the issue here->(https://r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/#community:51/iquestion:15793) but it appears to be an abandoned thread - and the solution offered did not work.

Description: Open any drawing with draftsight. (Including: Draw a circle, save the drawing, re-open that drawing.) After the drawing opens, I am unable to select anything for any purpose. PROPS, DDEDIT, MOVE... I cannot select anything. It sort of behaves like all geometry is one large block, but I am not able to select it either. Eventually it will get tired of me clicking around and crash.

If I open an existing drawing and then draw a circle - anywhere, any size - then suddenly I am able to select and copy and move and edit everything.

I sent this off to our var, they passed me off to three different people over two weeks and only ever suggested installing the solidworks video driver rather than the nvidia driver. Now draftsight complains about the driver, but the functionality is the same. They then said I have to take it up with draftsight directly. A week later, and draftsight have not replied. Phone support is "we don't offer support for the free version."
