I am running Ubuntu Linux 11.10, and Draftsight V1R1.3.
I have been working in a particular drawing for quite a while today. I began noticing some erratic behavior in the layer dialog, which ended in a crash.
At first, I tried to change the layer of an object. I was informed that this layer was frozen. I unfroze the layer in the layer dialog. The first erratic behavior was that the layer was not visible or thawed when I returned to the drawing. I tried this a couple of times, and each time the behavior was erratic. I could unfreeze the layer, return to the drawing, and the layer was not visible and was still frozen when I returned to the layer dialog. I manually thawed the layer with the command -layer T *, which unfroze it.
After that, when I tried to make this layer current, the program would simply vanish off the screen, a crash. Sometimes I could enter a command or two before it vanished, sometimes it would do this immediately. After a couple of tries of this, the program began trying to save a backup file, however it would then vanish off the screen, instead of loading the drawing. This behavior was observed when double clicking on the bad file.
Subsequent to this, the suspect drawing would load via the OPEN DRAWING dialog, but not by double clicking on it.
Draftsight will load normally when starting with a default drawing, but crashes after loading this drawing.
The drawing would work for a minute or two, but then Draftsight dissappeared from the screen (crashed) again if I try to change the layer of an object to the layer that was causing the trouble.
I have attached a copy of the bad drawing. The layer that causes trouble when I try to make it current is called EE-POWR
