Does DraftSight require activation to be used?  I have been using the free version 15 x64 for several months until it quit working a few days ago.  After trying to figure out what the problem was, I un-installed it and downloaded version 16 x64 and every time I tried to open it I got various error messages that :

"The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click O K to try again or enter an available path to a folder containing the installation package " 'DraftSight.msi' in the box below."  I search for D S,msi and get nothing. So I click the red X in the corner and get another message:  "  'C:\\Users\\Jim\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\IXP000.TMP\\DraftSight.msi' cannot be found.Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package .....".  So I try again to find the path quoted above and again get nothing.  I click the red X and another error box opens : "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product D S 2016 SP 1 x64.  The windows installer cannot continue."  I then click O K and the window closes and another opens that says "Fatal error during installation".  That window closes and I am looking at a blank screen.

I apologize that this has gotten so long but I don't know how to give you all of this info any other way.  I have tried to ask this question before and was told to un-install D S and re-download  D S X64.  I did this and it worked fine for about a day and then stopped again.  I have done this two more times and still cannot use it, I'm guessing, because it is not activated.  I have seen other iQuestions about activation.  They give instructions about how to activate D S, but I can't even try to use any of them if I can't open the program.   All of this is very frustrating as I really liked the program for the short time I was able to use it.  Is there any way to solve this problem?
