Hello,
I am working with a horizontal machine that has collinear axes. The setup is:
Base kinematics: Horizontal Machining Center(HMC) with XYZCA 5-axis + W-axis + V-Axis
W (quill) mounted on A, carrying the spindle. W-axis is collinear to Tool-Axis and so is V-Axis
V (shroud with dust collector) also mounted on A, moving independently
Typical sequence: machine positions with 5-axis, V moves down to touch the part, then W drills.
My question:
Does 3DEXPERIENCE currently support this type of collinear axis behavior in Drilling MOs without creating many point-to-point operations along with Machine Instructions?
If not, can new options be added in Drilling MOs to handle this?
This is for a project with thousands of holes at different orientations, so efficiency is critical.
Thank you.
