Morning guys,
I'm a longtime Solidworks user (and solidcam) and admin (20+ years) and I'm looking for good tips or workflows for users working with SW data. We are SW 3dx users that migrated to the platform a few years ago and now NSR (shop floor machining) is included in our subs. We are longtime Solidcam users and I'm feeling out if this is a viable option to replace that. There seem to be a lot of pros! However, we have things like fixtures and vises and machines detailed in SW that's not easily leverageable in Delmia because we're missing the ability to define MFG accessories. We have no means to define an SW vise as an accessory, therefore we miss out on quite a bit of functionality like the automatic transfer of intermediate stock from op1 to op2. To get around this, I am trying to include the vise in the SolidWorks assembly with the stock and target part, but then I have to make another assembly for op2 and the intermediate stock transfer isn't automatic. Also, I had to split my vise into two parts (moving jaw) to get it to open and close correctly. That's not very virtual twinly. Any ideas?
Also, sometimes when I rotate the model it goes like 360 degrees in .0001 seconds !!!!! I would love to fix that hahah.
Here's my progress report...slow getting going:
