Question About Laptop Specifications and Performance When Using CATIA V5-6R2019

Hello,

I am currently using CATIA V5-6R2019 and would like to ask whether my current laptop specifications are suitable for CATIA.

The PC I am currently using is a laptop, not a desktop, with the following specifications:

  • Model: HP Victus 16
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-13700HX
  • RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800`
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU 8GB
  • Integrated GPU: Intel UHD Graphics
  • Storage: 477GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 64-bit
  • CATIA: V5-6R2019

I currently use CATIA for automotive component design, and I experience long processing times during the following operations:

  1. Long loading times when working with medium- to large-sized files
  2. Long calculation times when performing Pattern operations in Part Design
  3. Long or sometimes indefinite loading times when saving Assembly data as another file

I would like to know whether my current laptop specifications are suitable for performing these types of operations in CATIA V5-6R2019.

In particular, my current RAM is 16GB. Would upgrading the RAM to 32GB or 64GB improve performance in these situations? Or would the CPU, GPU, or other hardware components have a greater impact on performance?

I would also like to know whether the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU is officially supported or certified for CATIA V5-6R2019, and if there are any recommended hardware specifications for running CATIA V5-6R2019 on a laptop.

Thank you for your help.
