Hi all,
Instead of using Snagit or the Snipping Tool to create images, I tried using Stellar Rendering, but I’m struggling to make sense of it. The documentation on this topic is, to put it mildly, quite poor. I also couldn’t find any helpful information in the CATIA Communities, so I decided to ask my questions here 🙂
Note: Live Rendering works fine, but I’d like to understand how the Stellar tool functions within Part Design and Assembly Design.
Here are my main issues:
- Resolution : The rendered image resolution seems to depend on the size of the CATIA window. If I shrink the window, the resolution drops.
- Is there no other way to control the resolution?
- Performance: Rendering takes an incredibly long time, even though I'm using a high-performance workstation. It seems like there’s a default setting:
Target Render Time = 60 min
.- Why is it set to 60 minutes, and how can I change it?
- Output : I don’t seem to get any final rendered image. Instead, I only find a bunch of
snap.jpg
files in the...\AppData\Local\DassaultSystemes\CATTemp\AutoSave
folders.- Anybody knows anything about that?
- Preferences: I couldn’t find any useful settings in the Preferences menu—only the Performance/Quality slider. If I leave it at Best Quality, it seems like the rendering never completes. But if I reduce it to 1/16, the rendering at least finishes.
- Does anyone know what this slider really affects or how to use it properly?
Thanks for any answer! 🙂
Best regards,
Lennart
