We are working with 3DExperience as our main CAD Tool (we generate all our Plies via the various Composite Roles).
For our simulaitons however we use Altair Hypermesh. We now want to simulate the actual Layup/Plie directions from our composite data.
As stated in the Altair Docs, importing .3dxml files does not support Composite Data, only catia v5 files support this. However when exporting to v5 only "dead" geometry is exported and no composite data/stackups are included.
We have already found the Export function in the 3Dexperience Composites Tool and tested it out, even with providing a abaqus mesh. There are however 2 Problems: we are unsure, how the exported file can be used in Hypermesh (we can open it, and see different colored meshes, but no data to back the plies) and 3dexperience always crashes when exporting via this export Plies feature.
Do any of you have a proper workflow for this?
