Hi,

I have created a Cableduct in combination with smart components which does the following when I change the length of the cableduct the amount of drillingholes is changed as well. This works pretty well.

Now I have released this component and added in my library because it's a standard buy item of 2meter length

As soon as a user uses this component is his physical product a cabinet for example and changes the length the problems are beginning. Because when he/she saves his project the cableduct can't be saved because it's released.  This is of course true

When using the "duplicate and insert" it works but it creates a new physical product and the user can change the length into 1 meter for example. But it happens that in a other project the same cable duct is used with the same length. And in this case I already have 2 Physical Products which are identical. Which I think is not best solution. 

Adding all the lengths in my libary is also something which I don't prefer.

Does someone has a better solution / idea for length dependent items?
