Hello,
I stumbled across the command "Duplicate of Existing Representation" in die context menu of a 3D Part in 2021x. If I understood the command correctly, it allow the user to insert an existing representation (usually a 3D Shape or a Drawing) into another 3DPart. But I'm not sure how that should be used during everyday scenarios.
There are two scenarios I have in mind:
1.: I created a new 3D Part and work on that. So already save it in the database. Now I realize that a similar component already existed. So I could use the "Duplicate of Existing Representation" as a kind of template, replace my 3D Shape with the already existing one and therefore save time. Is that possible and how would the correct process for that?
2.: I design a new part and I need to create a drawing of that part. Since I have already designed similar parts with a drawing, I will use "Duplicate of Existing Representation" to make a duplicate of that drawing and insert that under my new 3D Part. So I safe time since the drawing already contains annotations, views and other text and can be reused. Is that possible and how would the clean process look like?
Best Regards
Stefan
