Is there a best practice for placing dimensions to the center point of a slot/elongated hole in a drawing and have it be associative with 3d? I know it can be done, but the only way I know to do it requires what I would consider an excessive amount of support geometry. It seems like someone has to know of a better way. Have people developed scripts/automation? As far as I know this is still an acceptable method of defining the position of a slot per ASME standard.
