Composer 2018 Does Not Function

I write and design instructional manuals and other materials, using Adobe Creative Suite products of course, but I also use Composer extensively with the engineers' models. My company migrated to 2018 in April and I was thrilled to add Visualize to my toolbox. I was able to produce two excellent renderings with Visualize immediately after the upgrade (very happy with the results) and open .smg files I had already saved just fine. But on Day 3 after the upgrade, I tried to open models in Composer from the engineers' SolidWorks models--I've never seen anything like it. For example, opening an engine model---all the hardware comes through just fine, a few panels and mounts here and there, but no engine. There are two of us who use Composer for our manuals and we're both pulling our hair out. It's been two months that our company is paying for software that simply doesn't function. Is anyone else having this difficulty? It's extremely frustrating and I have numerous manuals to produce--I don't have time for this. Our CAD manager has been trying for two months now to get this resolved, to no avail. My co-worker and I both sent emails back in April and our only response was the computer-generated email giving us a ticket number. Neither of us have heard from a technician, we've gotten zero support. I suggested today that we shouldn't be paying for what we aren't getting because the software doesn't function--not to mention the lack of technical support.

Is anyone else having these kinds of problems with Composer 2018? And if so, have you been able to resolve them? I'm tired of pulling my hair out with this!
