Dear Experts,

We want to use EIN (Enterprise Item Number) for part numbering, but we run into some topics.

Before setting an EIN you have to save the CATPart in 3DEX. And use a random name. It would be nice to have the file name the same as the EIN.

Also once set the EIN and then start designing the CATPart jumps into the modus that there are more resent updates, so you are not able to save. first close the data and the open again.

Is there a more easier way to use EIN in CATIA V5 and 3DEX?

Or am I using it the wrong way?
