Do I have access to the Primitive parameters?

For example, I want to change the scale of a cube using UI button sliders. But for this I need a scale parameter.

Via an animation I can select a transformation that changes the scale of the cube. But this is an indirect solution and does not help to change the scale via a slider. 

Do I have to program here or is there another solution?
