Hello Community,
on Youtube I stumbled upon following video:
https://youtu.be/flgRVcVApvo
The easy way presented to generate structures amazed me and I would like to use this technique to build a machine frame from standard hollow sections. For me it seems to be more convenient that way than building a fully parametrized model using Part Design and Assembly Design.
I am not sure if this is the correct community for my problem, but here I found most information and maybe someone can help me.
To my problem. For me it was not as straight forward as it looked in the video from CATIA V5. I am using 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x HotFix 4.28. I was able to generate a Grid using the "Create 3D Grid Skeleton" and then placing basic columns out of a preinstalled catalog (using "Civil Structures Design"). Now I am not able to go any further, like doing "Miter Cuts" etc. as in the video.
After doing some research in the Community Wiki and User Assistance I think I understand the basic concept of generating structures. Starting with the basic structure in one app and detailing it in a different app. But for me the correct and full workflow is not clear and nothing seems to work as described / imagined (I cannot do cutbacks, change LOD, there is no Object Type to choose from etc. and for me it is not completely clear yet how these things are connected).
It would be great if someone could explain me the correct workflow and show me how to create a frame and detailing it.
Thank you in Advance!
