We are using PP2019 and have noticed that assert statements are ignored by the Python (on Server) component. Perhaps the Python interpreter is run in optimized mode, which ignores _debug_ (and assert)?

Is there a way to run this component such that assert statements are executed?

If not should we raise an enhancement request for this feature?
