Guidelines for posting and using scripts in the forums

Welcome to the MaterialsScript forums. If you have a script you would like to post to the forum or would like to download and use a script from the forums, please follow the basic rules below:

Uploading a Script
  • Besides your Perl script, please include any documents, such as study tables or structure documents, that are required to run the script for the first time.
  • Provide all the files needed in a single compressed file which is less than 2Mb in size.
  • Please ensure that your Perl script is well commented so that other users can understand them.
  • Please post each script in a new post.
  • If you require a Perl module from CPAN that is not included in the Materials Studio Gateway Perl, please include a link in the script to the appropriate page in CPAN so that others can download the Perl module.
  • In the comments at the top of the script, please add a version number, the version of Materials Studio required, and the modules used by the script.

Downloading and using scripts
  • Download and unzip the files, then import them into a Materials Studio project (you can change the document filter to All documents(*.*)).
  • Note the version number in the script and check that you have the correct version of Materials Studio installed before asking questions about the script. More recent versions of Materials Studio should be backwardly compatible with older scripts.
  • If you have any comments on the scripts, or questions, please reply to the original post containing the script.
  • Any scripts that you download from this site are not supported by Accelrys. If you have any questions, please use the forums.

Thank you for sharing your scripts with fellow users in the Accelrys community.

Best regards,

Stephen
