Next Meeting's Topic and Speaker:

 

Mark Biasotti, Product Manager from Solidworks will be here in May to talk about Advanced Modeling techniques with a focus on Surfacing.

He is an outstanding speaker with a calm and knowledgeable style.  Every year his classes at Solidworks World are quickly filled up.

 

About Mark

 

Mark is a degreed Industrial Designer and has worked in the field as a professional for more than 25 years for such companies as Atari, Hewlett Packard and IDEO. After 16 years at IDEO in California, Mark joined SolidWorks in Concord Massachusetts  as a Product Manager in 2004 helping to strategically guide the company in identifying commercial and consumer product design opportunities and working with  development to enhance SolidWorks for product design.

 

 

For the past 2 years he has held the position of Product Manager for the New Product Concepts Group of which one of their first product offerings being PhotoView360. He is currently holding the position of Senior Product Definition Specialist helping to define a future SolidWorks product.

 

 

Mark is passionate about SolidWorks and loves to spend time on various MCAD forums, SWUG meetings, and close to 100 personal customer visits conversing with users about machine and product design.

 

 

Mark loves to prototype and has a small machine shop in his garage. His interests also extend to the world of electronics  and has invented several gadgets over the years.

 

 

In addition to his interests in MCAD and design, Mark enjoys backpacking with his son and daughter, going for long walks in the local conservation areas with his wife and golden retriever as well as snowboarding and rollerblading.

Topics Covered

 

Mark will be covering advanced modeling topics with a specific focus on surfacing.  However, he has a wide array of knowledge and will be available to answer any questions you have.  He is intimately involved with the software and is also a power user.  Come prepared with questions.
