I've noticed a few issues with Simulation / Simulation Professional 2020
Lesson 11 of Simulation - Design Studies
I've been able to reproduce crashes across multiple systems on the suspension arm fileset. Specifically when adding sensors as constraints (p. 411, step 19) I submitted an SR for this and was able to hear back
It's not a 100% crash rate but it's been bad enough that some students were crashing repeatedly. Haven't been able to reproduce it on any other filesets. Advising students to save before adding any of the sensors as constraints.
EDIT: Looks like there was already an SPR 1162198 – “Sporadic crash when adding constraints to a Design Study when using Lesson 11 file of the SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional “
Lessons 04/05 of Simulation Professional - Load Case Manager & Submodeling
I was not able to get either of these lessons to solve. They also have some kind of obnoxiously huge Triad rendering on the screen:
I spent about an hour and a half trying to get either Lesson 04 or Lesson 05 filesets to work before falling back to just using the 2019 versions of those files, which worked fine in 2020.
Has anyone else encountered issues with these two lessons on the 2020 fileset? I wanted to ask before creating more SRs.
In the case of Lesson 04 - Load Case manager it runs but just doesn't finish to completion, it just gives up somewhere along the way
In the case of Lesson 05 - Submodeling I get model is unstable errors on the submodel if I try to use the existing results on the parent study. If I try to re-run the parent study I get varied results, such as this:
Thankfully these are the only problems I've noticed so far. I'm running SOLIDWORKS 2020 SP1.0
