Hi all,
I've a quick question. In our project template folders at work wehave a drawings folder which is divided up into part models(divided into tooling parts and parts by manufacturers), assemblymodels and detailed drawings (customer supplied, tooling partsetc). As we're working on a project we design up parts and assignthem part numbers but some of them become obsolete, i.e. they'renot used or they are revised.
I want to be able to move the obsolete/redundant parts into anotherfolder (named obsolete or redundant) but I want to maintainassembly references. I've noticed so far that this doesn't workwith cut and past. For exmple if I have an assembly named A606-A001and I rev this up to A606-A001R01 and then cut and paste theA606-A001 into the redundant folder and then maye open a detaileddrawing of it, it can't find it. I just want to e able to maintainreferences.
Do I need PDM for this or can it be done on Solidworks orSolidworks Explorer?
God bless,
