Hello,
The company I presently contract with has a very large archive ofAutoCAD R14 model data which I translate into SolidWorks throughthis process: Export model as a .sat file, open model (it may be anassembly!) into SolidWorks formats.
When this is done SolidWorks creates "Imported" files which itbuilds and then identifies by assigning "Importedx" file names inan incremental/numerical fashion. The problem is; IT ALWAYS countsfrom 0 on so that every time it imports files the numbers OVERLAPwith previous imported models and create chaos and havoc. Evenworse, there seems to be no option to "re-name" these files as theycreated in SolidWorks.
Is there a way to force SolidWorks to "pause" at each stage ofmodel(s) creation and allow ME, the Operator the choose file names?
Also, What is the easiest way to access "Global" settings so thatSolidWorks behaves in a way more congruent with an operators style.
Example: I ALWAYS use SAE and not metric. I do not want SolidWorksto think metric when I operate it!
