Running on VISTA, anyone?

Hi,
I just had my 2nd attempt to run 2008 on VISTA Business 32 bit.
Until a few days ago I had a working installation of SW 2008 SP 3.1on VISTA 32 bit but then VISTA became corrupt and I upgraded myhardware so VISTA and SW had to be re-installed on the new machine.
1./ Whenever I tried to run SW on VISTA earlier, it came up withthe same message saying that "Journal file can not be createdbecause another instance of SW might be running on this machine...Autorecover won't work..." There is obviously no other instance ofSW is running.
2./ Projects which work OK on XP come up _every time_ as'Read-only' on VISTA so I can't edit anything. With SW 2008 SP 4.0and Vista SP 0 I managed to work so that the files I was workingwith had been copied to the VISTA boot drive (we are set up forusing mobile racks and the 'Data' drive is the one in the mobilerack. Runs flawlessly on XP). Now this is gone as well (because Iupdated to VISTA SP 1?) so the files are not accessible for writingin any location. This might be one of those crazy VISTA securitycredentials but I just don't know how to overcome it.
3./ After upgrading the computer I have not been able to install SWsuccessfully on VISTA at all. It comes up with an error messageduring the installation (but install can go ahead) and does not runreferring to some missing procedures. I tried it several times, tono avail. Antivirus is disabled for installation, so this can't bethe cause.
Otherwise VISTA is beautiful and quick etc. etc. thanks very muchBill!!!
