Mechanical Design/Engineer Intern Position

Description:

GE Inspection Technologies in Lewistown, PA is looking for a mechanical design/engineering intern.  The applicant should be able to work independently, and demonstrate problem solving skills.  The qualified applicant will be responsible for working with the Engineering team to design mechanical components and housings as necessary for new products.  Work with manufacturing to trouble-shoot difficulties with current products, and verify new suppliers for current components.  Technical drawing and documentation creation, maintenance and updating will be a critical task.

Qualifications:

CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)

Currently enrolled in Mechanical Design/Engineering field of study

Familiarity with ANSI/ASME drawing standards

Preferred:

Prior drafting experience

Knowledge of tolerance methods

General knowledge of manufacturing processes (including molding, casting and machining)
