I have a relatively simple part to model. I can model something that will work but I thought it would be interesting to see what approach others would take.
I can go into more detail if needed.
Here is the basic premise:
The part is a simple short cylinder. OD x ID x THK.
The part is cut in half thru the center.
The two halves are tack welded back together then machined as a single piece.
The tack weld is removed and you end up with two pieces.
The two pieces can then be mated together and share a common axial centerline. Basically the process just removes the saw kerf.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
