Hi,
I have 3 4 functionalities that I miss in Solid Works. I'm using a 2018 version, so there is a slight chance that these functionalities are already added. I'm adding the request here, since without a subscription it's not allowed to add (hopefully) good suggestions to improve SolidWorks.
1. Making a linear pattern where the selected line / feature / point is used as a midpoint. I especially like that when adding points for a pattern of threaded holes. So when adding 6 points, 3 are created on each side.
2. Being able to move multiple selected mates to a new position in one drag and drop. Solidworks now tells me that it "cannot drag/drop multiple objects in .....". It should be easy to implement: Adding the files to a folder, dropping the folder at the desired location and finally removing the folder would already fix it.
3.Mating a line that starts at a circle, to be perpendicular to the tangent line on that circle at the starting point, with one button. I know that I can first draw a tangent line and then make the line I want perpendicular to this, or I could make select the center of the circle and make the line I want coincident to that point, but that more work when the center is not close at hand.
4. I would love it to freeze assemblies, so that I'm sure that it's not changed. I hate the risk that working in a higher assembly poses to the finished sub assemblies. When I make a change to that assembly, I want to be sure it was a conscious change. Using PDM is not an option for us.
Cheers
