I work for an engineering firm and we are starting to get into SW. Right now we have an employee we hired cause of his SWability. He is stationed at the clients work & he isusing an the existing clients SW computer. This client hasjust changed to SW 2008 and now they are having computer issues. My job is to purchase him a SW computer he can use at thisclient's location and when finished he will bring the computer backhere.
I have seen what he is working on and I would say his largestassembly will consist of about 1000 detailed parts. Some simple others not. They are sending him toSW piping class also. Piping will be part of this finalassembly design he is doing. With that being said I want topurchase this guy a computer that will do him good but notsomething that is overkill. We are in the process of sendingsome of our other people to SW training and looking into purchasingSW for our engineering firm. Currently we useAutocad.
Here is the computer he is asking for. Can anyone tellme is this overkill or is this necessary for the level/amount ofwork he will be doing in SW? Right now he is doing alot of redrawing from Autocad to SW to create his SW finalassembly. That is why he needs two monitors. Idon't have a problem with that.
If you happen to be asking why is an engineer doing this work, wellif you knew our IT guy you would understand.:-) Hence,I volunteered to look into this.
Thank you everyone for your response.
