Anybody is having problems with the Body-Move/Copy feature inderived parts?
Since 2007 when I started using derived parts the Body-Move/Copyfeature has been behaving completely out of whack when usingreference planes, axis and coordinate systems as mating objects.Once the base part is positioned where it should be, sometimes onlyone rebuild or one move of the rollback bar and the base part justteleports away from its location as if it had a mind of its own.
SPR 413729 is still opened and SW says they have no idea when itwill be fixed. I just can't believe this.
- The bug isn't hard to reproduce.
- It doesn't require very specific conditions.
- It impairs the very basic functionality and main purpose of thefeature, i.e. to locate a base part inside a derived part.
To me the Body-Move/Copy feature is simply half-baked. And withouta proper feature to position a base part, there is no point for thederived part / base part concept to even exist inside SW.
Sorry for the rant but it's driving me nuts.SolidworksParts And Features
