It wasn’t long ago when, at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020, we heard from amazing SOLIDWORKS users like Mike Schultz of BioDapt and Brad Thompson of Impact Props telling us all about how they’d already extended their capabilities as designers and engineers by taking advantage of the 3DEXPERIENCE WORKS portfolio.

When we go to World, we want to be inspired. We want to hear about things we’ve never heard of or seen before. People like Mike Schultz and Brad Thompson do that for us. But, throughout the year, it doesn’t stop there.

One of the things I’m grateful to be able to do here as a team member here at SOLIDWORKS is work with individuals like Brad, as an example, who inspire hundreds of thousands of their own followers to think bigger and work smarter using SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE WORKS solutions.

One of those individuals is a guy by the name of Mike Patey. Mike’s one of the most respected voices on YouTube when it comes to engineering and, specifically, building planes. His team really takes the time to dive deeply into the math, physics, and engineering behind the planes they build. And not only does he make awesome content and bush planes - he’s made aircrafts that have broken world records!

And these days, Mike’s using SIMULIAworks to simulate stresses to critical aircraft components, such as his landing gear assembly here, before he even gets into the seat of these record-breaking planes.

“I know how this gear’s going to react when I hit a hard landing, and I know it before I even fly it.” He knows this because of the power of SIMULIAworks.
