The SOLIDWORKS® team is excited to announce the release of our browser-based and cloud-connected SOLIDWORKS roles. The R2023x GA release, which came out on Saturday, November 19, 2022, features significant enhancements helping customers to simplify workflows and improve productivity.

This new release brings significant improvements to the SOLIDWORKS roles in the 3DEXPERIENCE® Works portfolio. Below is just a small selection of the most notable enhancements.

SOLIDWORKS Browser-based Roles

• 3D Creator: Stay up-to-date with your team’s latest changes with new instant notifications. Keep your designs up-to-date at all times with new design manager feedback. Maximize your sketch dimension control with new min/max/center manipulators for reference geometry. Manage designs with ease inside a new property panel experience. Build with design intent using parametric equation-driven threads. Increase productivity for drag-and-drop assembly workflows. Improve loft accuracy and control with new thin wall options. Design with realism and improve sketch visualization with automatic perspective view toggle.
• 3D Sculptor: Visualize your subdivision model more easily with dynamic view manipulation. Editing the model in perspective mode is helpful when viewing the model normal to a standard plane. The view settings automatically switch to parallel when viewing a model normal to a standard plane. Edit a subdivision surface faster; the mesh selection is retained after an undo operation. Control how the subdivision surface deforms when dragging a point on the mesh with soft selection.
• 3D SheetMetal Creator: Create complex sheet metal bends and miters with ease using a new miter flange command.
• 3D Structure Creator: Enhance and expedite the creation and editing of cutouts with comprehensive cut depth control. Use intuitive pierce point manipulators to easily place Between Members structural members. Quickly find and edit structural member trims
  with the addition of the trim features in the Design Manager.
• Manufacturing Definition Creator: Rapidly define assemblies and call out key components with Auto Balloon capabilities. Save time organizing drawings with new view alignment and snapping.

SOLIDWORKS Cloud-connected Roles

• 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS Premium, Professional, and Standard: Improve assembly speed and simplify assembly design with intelligent, automated assembly mode performance selections. Speed up your downstream processes by exporting assembly components as separate STEP files. Accelerate assembly design with streamlined assembly workflows. Ensure design integrity by automatically replacing lost mate references with alternative mate references, including faces, edges, planes, axes, and points. Create part geometry faster with multi-body modeling improvements and more extensive use of coordinate systems.
• 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional and Premium: Streamline the design process by reducing the manual counting and entering of table data. Extract selected entities and blocks within the drawing. Optimize your design workflow with a maximized viewing and working area thanks to the new contextual ribbon tab. Quickly identify annotations that have no associativity or have been disassociated, with the new Annotation Monitor. Declutter overlapping entities and streamline your design workflow with the new Selection Cycling tool.
• Electrical Schematic Designer: Enjoy an improved user experience when creating electrical designs on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Expand the capabilities to automate schematic creation using Microsoft® Excel data. Enable greater flexibility in using images in documentation. Simplify documentation of electrical designs using intelligent connection labels. Create higher quality documentation by embedding linked reports in schematics and drawings. Add multilingual attributes that change when the document language is changed.
• 3D Motion Creator: Run dynamic simulations more easily with tree view for motion elements extended with the display of referenced elements. Improve cross-highlighting for selected elements between tree and 3D view and the display of motion elements in authoring mode. Visualize applied loads and driver velocities through arrows and toroids. Define the independent body structure/dress-up function. Simplify rubber bearing modeling in general mechanisms with the new linear Cylindrical Bushing command.
• Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS: Leverage the best-in-class capabilities offered in SOLIDWORKS 2023. Enjoy a more consistent and enhanced visual experience with the streamlined rendering engine of SOLIDWORKS Visualize.
