Dean Kamen, a long-time friend of the SOLIDWORKS and Dassault Systemes community, is not only fighting COVID-19 with multiple inventions from his company DEKA; but Dean is also planning for long-term support of populations in need. He partnered with Fred Smith, the CEO of FedEx, to ship medical devices quickly and mobilize support.
This story feels truly "close to home" for me, as I recently moved from Boston, MA (near Dean Kamen's hometown) to Memphis, TN (Fred Smith and FedEx's hometown). I feel fortunate to have witnessed first-hand the amazing positive impact for communities-in-need that has resulted from Dean Kamen and Fred Smith's leadership, generosity, creativity, and kindness.
