I am pleased to announce the R2021x FD07 release of our 3DEXPERIENCE® Works portfolio was deployed on Saturday, September 4th, 2021.

This release features several improvements and changes to our portfolio.

3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional

3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional enables clients to create and edit professional grade DWG drawings within a familiar 2D drafting environment and leverage the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for secure collaboration.

With 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional customers can:

• Get up to speed quickly with a familiar and streamlined user interface.
• Migrate easily from other 2D CAD applications thanks to a familiar interface, workflows, and support for their existing DWG data and automations.
• Create, edit, view, share and print professional drawings for engineering, constructions, and manufacturing.
• Manage 2D DWG data with rich design libraries and productivity tools.

Notes:

• 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional only requires Collaborative Business Innovator (IFW-OC).
• 3DEXPERIENCE DraftSight Professional is licensed and deployed from the platform.
• Documents can be stored in 3DDrive on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

This new release also brings hundreds improvements to all the roles in our 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio. Below is just a small selection of some of my favorite improvements. But go check out the 3DEXPERIENCE platform user's community​​​​​​​ for all the details!

• Notifications older than 90 days are now automatically archived (Collaborative Business Innovator)
• Instant search: start typing a search and results are instantly provided and sorted by content types such as communities, posts, etc. (Collaborative Business Innovator)
• Link WeDos to existing projects in Project Planning (Collaborative Business Innovator and Project Planner)
• Create, update, and delete route template from within the route management widget (Collaborative Industry Innovator)
• Easily find and navigate bookmarks with the new Find in Tree command (Collaborative Industry Innovator)
• Restore deleted projects – for up to 30 days (Project Planner)
• Instantiated components’ graphical properties (visibility, transparency and colors) now persist in downstream viewer applications such as 3DPlay for improved collaboration during design reviews (Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• Map SOLIDWORKS properties to 3DEXPERIENCE PLM attributes to use information such as Revision, Maturity, Owner, Collaborative Space in SOLIDWORKS notes, title blocks, BOMs, etc.  (Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• Define how external references are handled when saving to the platform (Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• Work locally, move at your own speed and easily control what is saved to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with the new local save option “Save to This PC” (3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• Save time when saving SOLIDWORKS files to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. SOLIDWORKS files no longer need to be cached to MyWork folder (3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• New option to control whether the legacy file name should be used as the File Title when using the Auto-Name feature. This also allows drawings to be automatically named after the Part / Assembly it contains (Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS roles)
• Increase your design productivity with new dimension as you sketch capabilities to streamline the process of fully defining your sketches. (Browser-based design roles)
• Source standard components with ease with the new PartSupply widget. Sourceable components now have full interoperability. (3D Creator)
• Simulate life-like motion with new commands to apply forces, torques, contacts, linear springs and damper (3D Motion Creator)
• Share and preview your motion animation with 3DPlay (3D Motion Creator)
• Set up contacts with a single click by specifying the general contact behavior between all components in a model (Structural Designer and Structural Engineer)
• New Riks step generally used to predict unstable, geometrically nonlinear buckling or collapse of a structure is now enriching the scenario application (Structural Mechanics Engineer and Durability and Mechanics Engineer)
• Increase efficiency during operational meetings with improved manipulators and toolbar and new capabilities to copy/paste/move sticky notes, stickers, members, text box across board cells within the same Team Board (Lean Team Player)
