3DEXPERIENCE World 2024 - Community Highlights

3DEXPERIENCE World 2024 is our chance to connect with thousands of SOLIDWORKS Users over the span of just a few days.

This event is always packed from start to finish with community events. Lets recap just some of the major highlights from Dallas.

CAD Monkey Dinner

Dan Herzberg, the leader of the Boston SOLIDWORKS User Group, has been organizing this event for years. It takes place on Saturday night and it’s the unofficial start to 3DEXPERIENCE World for many of our community members.

This is great opportunity to connect champions, influencers, user group leaders, and the rest of our community!

Planes Trains and Ubers (PTU)

In order to minimize their CO2 footprint – and to show that planning/communication could easily be done via the 3DEXPERIENCE platform – SOLIDWORKS Champion and User Group Leader Lennart Tinndahl and @MHtraversed the country from Boston to Dallas by train!!! in just over 44 hours. They played up the schtick (based on the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles) by preparing and releasing a number of teaser and trailer videos and while train traveling, Lennart also released a number of SOLIDWORKS tips-from-the-train – what he is well-known for outside of 3DEXPERIENCE timeframe – as they passed through various stations along the journey.

SOLIDWORKS User Group Network Summit

This is our chance to gather all the SOLIDWORKS User Group Leaders who were attending the conference and celebrate our accomplishments from the previous year. We heard from guest Speakers Aryan Fallahi and Jeremy Fielding. They talked about what it was like to build the massive communities of followers that they have built. We also hand out the SWUGN Choice Awards. This is our way of recognizing the amazing people that had positive impacts on the User Group Network in the previous year.

SOLIDWORKS Champions Summit

@MCorganized this second annual event, gathering all the SOLIDWORKS Champions who were attending 3DEXPERIENCE World. He featured a lineup of talented guest speakers. Sanket Patel from Bowhead talked about their use of our tools and what it means to be part of the Champions Program. Dane Moorehead from Wichita State University did a presentation about how his SAE team is using our tools to out-pace the competition. As a grand finale, Barry from Titans of CNC showed his process for reverse engineering an impossibly complex airplane part from the 40's and turning it into a workable SOLIDWORKS File. This was a blast and Matt was able to capture this picture.

The Hive

The SOLIDWORKS Community was everywhere in Dallas and The Hive served as the home base for networking. The Hive was buzzing with actives all week; networking events, Live Podcasts, and @MCeven organized a jam session!
