We provide an in-depth view of simulation applied to turbomachinery development.
The workshop is composed of five 30-minute sections addressing the industrial application of simulation workflows for an aircraft engine. These examples illustrate how simulation-driven development can drive better decision making. Accessible, accurate, and efficient simulation tools enable more design iterations, guide testing to reduce the number of physical prototypes, spark innovation, and help reduce program risks.
Highlights:
- Introduction to the Lattice Boltzmann method for high accuracy flow simulation,
- Fan and community noise simulation,
- Engine thermal soak analysis
- Rotordynamics analysis for the shaft and bearing design
- Application of multibody dynamics simulation to gearbox design
