Working with SIMULIA – Paths to Analysis

By Rick Hahn

Simulation is now helping designers create better designs earlier in the development process, while also reducing the time it takes to release a design. Subsequently, we will have the need to bring the simulation tools:
- Into the designers domain
- Accessible by a designer or an analyst in the design domain
- Analytical results available to all stakeholders involved in the design development independent of the design and analysis tools

The SIMULIA tools most pertinent to common simulation scenarios will require one of the following SIMULIA licenses:

  • SRD -> Structural Designer
  • SLL -> Structural Engineer
  • SFO -> Structural Performance Engineer
  • SSU -> Structural Mechanics Engineer

The Structural Performance Engineer role is the one we would most likely recommend to encompass classical simulation problems. My knowledge is limited on the full breadth of the capabilities of roles so please contact a SIMULIA representative for specific information.

Visit the ENOVIA User Community HERE to watch the demo video! I show how you can move freely between SOLIDWORKS, SIMULIA, and 3DEXPERIENCE. The intent is to show that regardless of your local process are role, the tools are close at hand to your normal user environment.
