Volvo | New VNL Camera Monitoring System (CMS) Soiling Analysis: A Test Correlation With PowerFLOW | SAUC 2025

Abstract

As the camera becomes an integrated part of the driving experience, on-road soiling prevention becomes an important feature when designing the system. CFD analysis using PowerFLOW can be used to facilitate the design process and provide important information of the cause of the problems. During the design process, some road tests were performed in Alaska by the testing department. Correlation was done between those road tests and the the analysis performed in-house. This correlation showed a good agreement between analysis and the road test.
