In this video series we are going to look at how to do a submodel analysis. This is using 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x. The approach is likely to remain similar in later versions, but there is ongoing development work to improve the process, so specifics may be different.
Session 1: How-To prepare a Submodel on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
In this first video, we are going to show the preparation of a submodel. We already have an analysis for the given structure, including a region with a peak stress. The original model has to be cut into a smaller region for further investigations and new boundaries have to be defined.

Session 2: How-To generate a Submodel on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
In the previous video we created an abstraction shape to hold what would be the cutting surfaces for our submodel of this structure. Now we can proceed with generating the submodel.

Session 3: How-To setup a Submodel Analysis and to evaluate the Results on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
In the previous videos we created the submodel mesh and checked what the Automated FEM procedure had done in the background. Now we are ready to setup the analysis and look at the results.
