In this model, a user subroutine VDLOAD is used to define the catapult system for simulating the assisted take-off of the ball-shaped birds. Two periodic media are implemented in this model with each medium containing seven topologically identical segments. When one inlet segment passes through the trigger plane, the segment at the outlet is transported instantly to the inlet end to maintain the nonstop operation.
This capability allows users to simulate repetitive systems effectively by reusing the elements that have left the zone of interest. It is an ideal tool for modeling continuous forming operations or manufacturing processes such as web and conveyor belts.
