Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has been a long time Abaqus partner with SIMULIA. They develop the FirePro graphics GPUs which are designed to leverage  massive parallel processing power to tackle compute-intensive applications beyond just graphics and help scientists and engineers to get results faster. With the release of their FirePro W9100 Workstation Graphics they now offer the first graphics card with 16GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 memory. Additionally, the FirePro W9100 Workstation Graphics offers the ability to support up to six 4K displays with six Mini DisplayPort outputs and are designed to support OpenCL 2.0.

Why do you care?

You can benefit from AMD's FirePro graphics when running large solid model simulation. These types of problems usually involve solving large systems of linear equations.
