Abstract:

These contribution deals with the flow and noise simulation of a centrifugal fan using PowerFLOW. The results of different conditions will be shown in terms of aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. The pressure coefficient, efficiency and the narrow band spectra will be analyzed. The simulation results are also used to visualize the flow topology and acoustic field.

Rebecca Schäfer studied at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. Since May 2016 she is employed at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Machinery at the University of Kaiserslautern. She is engaged in the field of the Lattice Boltzmann method. Here, the focus is on the analysis of flow and acoustics in centrifugal fans using the Lattice Boltzmann method.
