1. Flexible Multibody Simulation

SIMULIA Simpack is a Multibody Simulation (MBS) software for dynamic analysis of mechanical systems. Multibody Simulation allows an analyst to study the kinematic behavior of a system or to identify forces acting between two components at a much lower computational cost than a Finite Element Analysis.

Flexible Multibody Simulation is an elegant approach that combines the benefits of the traditional MBS approach with the high fidelity provided by the Finite Element method.

This document provides an overview of model reduction techniques, preparation of FE model, types of couplings, substructure generation steps, quality check of FBI files, and the best solver settings suitable for Flexible Multibody Simulation.

Target Audience: Analysts, Consultants and Tech Support.

2. SIMULIA 3DOrchestrate Advanced On Premises Installation

3DOrchestrate is part of the simulation workflow infrastructure of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. 3DOrchestrate allows users to distribute and parallelize the execution of simulation process jobs across available computer resources and to share the results.

This Best Practices document covers all prerequisites required for installation and configuration of 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x SIMULIA Process Composer and 3DOrchestrate Distribution server. It enables the users to perform 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x SIMULIA 3DOrchestrate installation, with ‘Advanced’ method of deployment and Apache as reverse proxy.

Target Audience: Site IT, Software Architects, Administrators, Tech Support members, and Consultants.

3. Access Advanced Abaqus Features Using 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x SIMULIA Apps

This Best Practices document demonstrates the use of advanced Abaqus features authored by a Mechanical Analyst using the External Solve feature of the Physics Simulation app.

The Physics Simulation is exported as an Abaqus Input file and is updated interactively with additional Abaqus keywords using a simulation process authored in the simulation templates in the Process Composer app. The updated Abaqus Input file is executed using the Compute Orchestration Service. The results are imported back into the 3DEXPERIENCE Physics Results app for post-processing.

Target Audience: Design Engineers, Mechanical Analysts, CFD Analysts, Methods Developers, and so on.

4. Design Exploration Using the Parametric Design Study App

The Parametric Design Study is a 3DEXPERIENCE Platform app for parametric design exploration studies. This app provides a single platform to perform the study definition, design comparisons, alternative generation. Using this app, you can perform the Design Improvement Study on the physical product or the simulation object.

This document describes the various features and capabilities of the Parametric Design Study app with the help of a complete 3DEXPERIENCE based workflow, to perform the Design Improvement Study of a Bottle design.

Target Audience: Design Engineers, Mechanical Analysts.

5. Fully Automated Multi-Disciplinary Optimization of an Electric Vehicle Motor Thermal Design

This Best Practice document describes how an optimization based on a sequential thermal-structural analysis can be deployed across an organization and used in the decision-making process to arrive at a design that satisfies the requirements.

The optimization is conducted by building a Simulation Process in the SIMULIA Optimization Process Composer application. The Simulation Process executes an optimization based on sequential thermal-structural analysis.

Target Audience: Design Engineers, Thermal Engineers, Hydraulic Engineers, CFD analysts, and Methods developers.
